Why Al Najma?

Al Najma was born from a journey that began not in a clinic, but in a home — with a little boy named Afthab.

Afthab, the beloved son of our founders, is the light that gave this centre its purpose. His unique way of experiencing the world inspired a deep and personal understanding of what it truly means to support a child's growth — with patience, empathy, and unconditional love.

In their efforts to find the right help for Afthab, his parents discovered how many families were walking similar paths — often feeling overwhelmed, unseen, and unsupported. They realised they were not alone. And neither should anyone else be.

The Meaning Behind the Name

They named the centre Al Najma — meaning "The Star" — to honour Afthab, the guiding star who led them to create a place of hope, healing, and belief in every child's potential.
Al Najma is their promise — to Afthab, and to every child — that no one should ever have to walk this journey alone.
